Three instruments, one record
Everything a court, a prosecutor, an accused and a victim need to run a structured plea under the National Sentencing Guidelines, 2026 by Practice Direction, on the Sanhitas as enacted: the Provisional Sentencing Calculation, the plea submission with its Provisional Sentence Indication, and the safe-harbour routing that prices a sworn lie before it reaches sentencing.

- Charge-sheet filed (s. 193 BNSS). The Prosecutor files Form I Part A with a Form I-A for every offence-section — the same arithmetic the calculator runs.
- First hearing — plea notice by the Magistrate. The accused files Part B: election of Track 1 (Chapter XXIII, where s. 289 allows) or Track 2 (plea to the charge as framed), with a request for a Provisional Sentence Indication and a Written Basis of Plea.
- Victim heard (Rule 13A(3)). On identity, the factual basis and the Charge-Integrity Certificate, and the Victim Impact Statement; an objection to sentence is recorded, not a veto on a plea to the charge as framed.
- Provisional Sentence Indication (Rule 13A(4)). Non-binding, valid fifteen days; the plea and conviction are recorded only after confirmation and acceptance. On withdrawal, the Form goes to a sealed cover.
- A sworn lie on the record (Rule 13A(5)). Any party raises a ticket; the Truth Officer serves an Opportunity to Correct; correction within fifteen days closes it; otherwise the judge forms the s. 379(1) opinion and the complaint goes to the Magistrate under s. 382 — or to the public servant under s. 215(1)(a) for ss. 206–223 BNS.
- Sentencing. Rule 5(1)(b) aggravation is scored only on the trial court's own finding of deliberate falsehood or obstruction by the offender — never on the notice alone.
